On this Memorial Day, I want to say thanks for all those who have served our country. I especially want to thank those families who had a loved one make the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
Our family lost a loved one during the Vietnam War. I think of him and his immediate family on this day.
I also think of the family of the Marine who is on the MIA/POW bracelet that I wear. I hope that some day they find him and are able to bring him home for his final resting place and for his family.
God Bless All of Them. May They Rest in Peace.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
I found your blog while doing a search how to tye dye. I also blog at amencomelordjesus.com/blog as well as blogspot.
I read some of your posts and then I saw this one and had to comment. I remember the POW/MIA bracelet. My recollection is fuzzy, but I either had one briefly and was fortunate to return it, or they had stopped with them when I tried getting one...I was fairly young.
People where I live have the Lions club bring American flags for several holidays. Sometimes I fly my POW/MIA flag because I think with all the patriotism these days, people forget about those that are still in Vietnam.
I bid you peace!

Thank you for your kind words. I too think too many people forget about the Vietnam War and the Korean War as well. We focus on WWII, which is fine, there are many stories to tell. One of my Uncles was on Iwo Jima and fought in the pacific. I also have a cousin who is currently on his 3rd tour in Iraq. He has 6 more months to go of a 15 month tour. Anyhow, we focus on todays war, as we should, and WWII because we're losing those vets rapidly, but we forget about the ones in between. My cousin that died in Vietnam died two years before I was born. I never met him. But my Pops and another of my Uncles were also in Vietnam. So, I wear the bracelet of a missing Marine LT. I suspect he was a pilot, but I don't know for sure. He's been missing since May 3,1968.
So, remember the ones who have gone before us and the ones who have laid down their lives to keep us free. And let's not forget to remember and pray for the ones fighting now.
Anyhow, thanks for your kind words.
I know all of them, the Soldiers, the Marines, the Naval and Air Force folks who have all fought to keep us free, appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
